About us
The International Master Degree Program for Molecular Medicine in Emerging Viral Infections (originally named the Master’s Degree Program in Molecular Medicine) is designed for international and domestic students with a background in biology, biomedicine, or biotechnology who wish to engage in vigorous training leading to a MS degree. Faculty members have expertise in the following areas: emerging virus, virology, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, microbiology, immunology, and various omics/systems biology disciplines such as Genomics, Proteomics, and Bioinformatics.
Emerging viruses may be causative agents for disease outbreaks that threaten public health. Understanding the pathogenesis caused by emerging viruses at the molecular level and developing the prophylaxis and treatments against the viruses are crucial to prevent the outbreaks. The goal of this master degree program is to cultivate professional personnel in multidisciplinary research fields of emerging viruses and biomedicine. All lectures and laboratory courses are offered in English, and provide a breadth of concepts and research skills in modern biomedical fields. Students can also have access to the cutting-edge core facilities in the Research Center for Emerging Viral Infections and the Molecular Medicine Research Center at CGU.
